2018 Merci Reserve Pinot Noir

The Merci Reserve cuvee is our unique release crafted from estate plantings of "heirloom" or "heritage clones" of Pinot noir – clippings from Mt. Eden, Calera, Swan, Hanzell, and Vosne-Romanée (Côte de Nuits, Burgundy). This special bottling is a fitting tribute to those that have labored to make these extraordinary clones available to us, and to whom we express our deepest thanks.

Awarded 94 points by Vinous: "An expansive bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits, candied flowers and vanilla, and a spicy nuance builds in the glass. Sappy and well-concentrated, offering sweet boysenberry and cherry cola flavors that become more lively with air. Smoothly blends depth and vivacity and finishes very long and precise, with youthfully gripping tannins and strong florality."
